The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the group enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
