Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.

Now training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial trophy since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since March of 2023.

Success also means the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different events.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his first ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
