The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
